The Culture Factor: ‘Until the lion tells the story the hunter will always be the hero’

Hear the roar! Abracadia is the lion’s story! Serving history, past present and future, with a wide menu of delicacies for mind, body and soul, flavours unlike anything the establishment can serve up!

Abracadia is a people’s cultural action hub. We publish and produce vision-leading authors and artists from the Global Majority and the Working Class of the world.

The indigenous peoples and the global majority of the world have suffered the loss of their cultural knowledge, expertise and economy to colonial ambitions that persist to this day. More than any other field of human activity, the arts have subverted the cultural genocide of colonialism, expressions of cultures with the holographic epigenetic imprint of our lost identity.

Jazz, reggae and hip-hop, have long been the last refuge of intellectual and spiritual integrity, performing a much more profound role in society than mere popular entertainment. Right from the earliest jazz and blues, our music was the cultural turning point for people of African holocaust heritage to express pride in their identity. An identity that responded to genocidal colonial capitalism by maintaining the prophetic core aims and values of love, justice and liberation from oppression.

Through the Griot tradition Abracadia beckons forth the rise of the underdog and the age of Ubuntu, inviting you to take part too. Rippling out from the first cry against our kidnap and enslavement, from the first sigh of longing for restoration, redemption, home; volume rising, hypnotising, seeds been sowing so long now, numbers who are flowing with the knowing ever growing…

From a whisper to a scream

A true revolution in style, content, strategy, vision and spirit, our mission is to transform reality through art and culture. The reach increase with every generation: the song of truth and freedom stir us like magic, expanding the horizons of consciousness and raising our possibilities.

Like embryonic cell division, the very first voice of utterance for liberation from holocaust became two voices, then four, eight, sixteeen, thirty-two, sixty-four … millions. Abracadia celebrates and builds on that legacy of Ubuntu reflected in the re-humanising cultural action of ten plus generations of trafficked, dehumanised and commodified African kidnap victims of colonial capitalism.

The struggle continues. Hasta la vitoria siempre. Abracadia is the culture factor - styling it this and defining it that: a people’s culture factory dedicated to cultural action, rebuilding our communities and cultures and re-humanising our world.

This is achieved in three ways: Firstly, through collaborations with kindred artists who share our taste for direct cultural action that bypasses corporate influence.

Secondly, by investing in the next generation: Every school dept stockroom in England is heaving with unwanted old books that can be put to good use in rural African schools where they have no books at all. Books from UK schools will be shipped to rural schools in Africa every term. For every novel and album Abracadia sells, a school book can be sent to an African school. Abracadia’s outreach work also includes supporting visionary young British writer-musicians to attend our music/writing workshop-retreats (with parent/carer if under 18).

Thirdly, by facilitating dialogues for creatives and professionals young and old across the world to share the ideas, knowledges and expertise needed in order for our cultural action communities to thrive as beacons of our ideals.
